The Basil Family of Dealerships has partnered with the Veterans One Stop Center of Western New York for the second annual “Vehicles for Vets” campaign, a summer long promotion in which a veteran or active serving military member will win a new vehicle. Since Memorial Day, the public has been able to go online and nominate friends and family who they believe deserve the new car.
The final giveaway took place yesterday at the Erie County Fair at the GUSTO Grandstand and was presented by the 106.5 WYRK Breakfast Club. Nicholas Green was the first finalist to try his luck, and amazingly enough, he chose the right key that sounded off the panic alarm!
Nicholas was nominated online by his wife Stephanie; she wrote:
“My husband joined the Marine Corps in a time a time of war, completing three tours in Afghanistan beginning in 2010, as an infantryman. After his time in the Marines came to an end, he went on to become a Honolulu Police officer. Honolulu was his duty station. He loved being a Marine and a Police Officer. Due to medical issues of his mother in law, he moved back to Buffalo for me. He is always willing to make a selfless sacrifice, whether it’s for his country, or giving up a job he loves so I can be closer to my family. If anyone deserves to be nominated it would be him.”
The public is highly encouraged to go online to basilcars.com/vehiclesforvets to view all of the wonderful nominations that The Basil Family of Dealerships has received.
